DPEO Kathua reviews arrangements for counting of votes
KATHUA, DECEMBER 04:- District Panchayat Election Officer (DPEO) Kathua, Om Prakash Bhagat today chaired a meeting of the concerned  to review the arrangements made for the counting of votes  of District Development Council Elections scheduled on December 22.
Threadbare discussion with regard to hassle free counting of polls was held wherein it was informed that 14 dedicated strong rooms and 14 counting halls have been established at Government Degree College  Kathua. It was further informed that counting teams will be provided necessary training so that the counting of ballots can be done in an efficient and transparent manner.
Discussions with regard to the provision of electricity, Water supply, Public Address System, internet connectivity, media centre etc were also held during the meeting.
The DPEO emphasized upon the Nodal Officers designated for election related tasks to work in close coordination for smooth and transparent counting process. He also directed Police authorities to make adequate security arrangements in and around counting venues for free, fair and secure counting. He emphasized adopting a proper traffic management plan to avoid any kind of traffic congestion outside the counting centre venue.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Atul Gupta; DDEO Narayan Dutt, ACD; ACR, Designated Observers, Nodal officers, officers from civil and police administration besides other concerned attended the meeting.
