Honorary treasurer IRCS J&K reviews functioning of DRCS Kishtwar, Doda
KISHTWAR/DODA ,FEBRUARY 24: Honorary treasurer Indian Red Cross Society J&K, UT chapter, G.A Qureshi today reviewed the functioning of Kishtwar and Doda units of Red Cross.
Additional District Development Commissioner Kishtwar Mohammad  Hanief Malik ( Nodal Officer of DRCS Kishtwar ), Joint Director Planning, Mohammad Iqbal, District treasury officer, Irfan Majid, Chief Medical Officer, Dr Ravinder Manhas, Chief Education officer, Kuldip Kumar Sharma, district officers and other sectoral  Officers attended the meeting.
The ADDC Kishtwar apprised the meeting about  the activities of the District Red Cross Society. He said the DRCS is conducting Blood donation Camps, reaching out to victims of accidents and calamities for medical and financial help. He informed that the DRCS has strengthened its voluntary base by raising the  number of volunteers from 20 to 44 and completed financial audit among other activities.
Honorary Treasurer stressed on the stakeholders working with IRCS to organize awareness camps and training programmes for volunteers on regular basis.
He also sought cooperation of District administartion in activities of IRCS like providing relief to the victims on time, furnishing of list of beneficiaries and submission of monthly statements in time.
He further stressed on increasing the voluntary base by involving students of higher secondary schools and colleges and motivating the retired health department, army and education officials to become lifetime members.
He further desired for inclusion of remaining government departments and private sector in the contribution ambit.
He suggested for the establishment of Disaster Response cells at tehsil levels and inclusion of PRIs in the processes of Red Cross Trainings for grassroot level voluntary work at the time of calamity.
Meanwhile, G.A. Qureshi, also reviewed the functioning of Red Cross Society Doda  at a meeting attended by ACR Kasier Ahmed Bhawani, Joint Director CPO Doda Parshotam Kumar, ARTO Doda Er. Kuldeep Singh, CEO Doda Tariq Hussain, DEPO Doda Ayaz Mughal, Accountant IRCS Amir Feroz, Ex. Secretary Red Cross Doda Dr. B.A Faridi, Statistical Officer Vijay Kumar Raina, ZEPO, Members of CWC Doda, besides others team members of childline project Doda.
Threadbare discussions were held regarding the latest progress reports and updated action taken reports including Progress report for the month of January 2020, monthly statement of financial assistance provided to the patients/Accident victims etc, Reply of 176th meeting of state managing committee of IRCS (J&K), Activity report for the year 2019-20, List of officials, Audit activities for the year 2019 ending March 2019, Annual Activities for the year 2019-20, Budget estimate for the year 2020-21, Action Plan for the year 2020-21.
