JAMMU, JANUARY 25: Legal Metrology Department today conduct a drive to ensure that all surgical items sold to consumers must be labeled with the information relevant to consumers and booked number of cases for different violations.
A total of 3 lakh fine was imposed and recovered from 11 traders and management of MIS Medicare Pharmaceuticals & Chemical Division and MIS Point of care Biomedical Pvt Ltd, Gujarat, were put on notice and cases will be dealt according to the provision of law.
Meanwhile department also fined Rs 50,000 to M/S 1K White Cement, Kanpur for not reducing MRP and passing on the benefit of Tax reduction to the Consumers to abolishment of Lakhanpur Toll Plaza. The management of the company complied with the directions later on and reduced Rs 47 on MRP on 40 kg JK wall Putty bag.
