R-Day: DDC Kupwara finalizes arrangements
KUPWARA, JANUARY 20: District Development Commissioner, Kupwara, Anshul Garg, today convened a meeting of officers to finalize arrangements for smooth conduct of Republic Day celebrations in the district.
The DDC directed the officers to ensure fault free arrangements for smooth conduct of the event.
The meeting was informed, that main function will be held at District Police Lines (DPL) Kupwara, starting with Shania Vadan followed by flag hoisting and march past by contingents of JKP, JKAP, IRP, BSF, CRPF, FPF, HG and school children. 
The DDC asked R&B Department to ensure proper patching of the roads and paths leading to venue. 
The Assistant Commissioner Revenue was directed to laisewith concerned departmental heads to ensure proper arrangement, besides monitor the seating arrangements and snow clearance at the venue.
ThePDD & PHE departments were directed to ensure uninterrupted power and water supply and were asked to keep genset and water tanker available at the event.
The DDC directed CMO to keep ambulance and first aid available while MED & EO Municipality were asked to keep snow clearance machines and manpower available in case of snowfall on both days of rehearsal and main function.  
The police department was entrusted with security arrangements. Information Department will facilitate proper Public Addressing System and media coverage of the event. Manager SRTC was asked to make adequate transport arrangement. 
The meeting also finalised other arrangements including refreshment, illumination, deployment of magistrates, and availability of fire-tenders.
The meeting was informed that Republic Day function will be held at Sub divisional level at Handwara, Karnah and Lolab also. 
The Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Bashir Ahmad Bhat; Joint Director Planning, Abdul Majeed; District Officers, besides senior officers of police, CRPF were present in the meeting.
