Inclement weather: DC Kargil reviews preparedness, directs maintaining adequate stock of essentials
KARGIL, JUNE 12: In view of inclement weather conditions, Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Baseer ul Haq Choudhary today issued instructions to all concerned departments in the district to be in a state of preparedness to deal with any exigency.
Chairing a meeting of the concerned officers, the DC directed the officers to ensure round-the-clock monitoring of the situation so as to deal with any possible exigencies and to keep their men and machinery in full readiness to deal with any eventuality.
The DC impressed upon the officers concerned to lay immediate focus in the aftermath of the snow and rainfall like restoration of power supply, inter and intra district road connectivity, drinking water supply, traffic management, ensuring adequate stock of ration, LPG and kerosene for consumers at ration stores as well other requisite measures. 
The SDMs and Tehsildars,  SHOs and other concerned officers  have been directed to advise people of their respective jurisdictions to restrict their movement in avalanche prone areas as well to restrict the movement of vehicles to avoid any mishap. 
Meanwhile, as precautionary measure instructions were also issued to keep all the Government and private schools in the district closed today. 
Superintendent of Police Dr Vinod Kumar, Administrator Municipal Committee Sonam Chosjor, Assistant Commissioner Development Imteeaz Kacho, Divisional Forest Officer, Chief Agriculture Officer, Chief Horticulture Officer and Tehsildar Kargil, Executive Engineers of R&B II, PHE, I&FC, PMGSY and M&RE PDD besides other concerned officers attended the meeting.
